Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure and honour to invite you to Thailand to enjoy the 9 Association of Southeast Asian Pain Societies (ASEAPS) that will be held from the 4 - 6 of May in Bangkok, one of the most spectacular cities in the world.
The ASEAPS Congress is a biennial scientific meeting that brings together distinguished physicians, paramedical health professionals and scientists to exchange their experience and research in the field of pain and pain management.
The ASEAPS Congress has been hosted by ASEAPS country members taking in turns including Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. In the coming year of 2023, the Thai Association for the Study of Pain (TASP) is delighted to be assigned to host the 9 ASEAPS Congress with the theme “Unifying ASEAPS Against Pain”.
ASEAPS 2023 is designed to provide a dynamic educational program covering fundamental courses along with other advanced knowledge on emerging techniques and drug therapy in pain management. The keynote speakers are amongst the best in their field and have been chosen to ensure that the scientific level of the Congress will be excellent.
ASEAPS 2023 aims to unify the diversity of treatment modalities in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural context imbued in state-of-the-art lectures, hands-on workshops and symposia. At the same time, you will enjoy Thailand's vibrant culture and hospitality and establish a long-lasting professional network and friendships.

Dear Colleagues and friends,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 9 Association of Southeast Asian Pain Societies (ASEAPS) Congress, which is being held in conjunction with the 34 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Thai Association for the Study of Pain (TASP) from May 4 - 6, 2023 in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.
ASEAPS is a Federation of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and comprises IASP Chapters from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The congress is held biennially to promote awareness of pain and its management as well as to provide up-to-date and practical knowledge in this field.
The 9 ASEAPS Congress and the 34 Annual Scientific Meeting of TASP includes three days of the main congress on May 4 - 6, 2023 and 1 day of pre-congress events, including a pain refresher course, cognitive behaviour therapy workshop and hand-on cadaveric workshop on pain interventions. The main congress program includes a wide variety of topics from theory to clinical practice to suit a range of healthcare professionals involved in pain medicine.
Apart from the scientific content, this Congress also provides a good opportunity to network with colleagues and friends from many countries in a warm and pleasant environment. As we have not been able to attend in-person conferences for more than two years, I hope you will seize this golden opportunity to meet your friends and colleagues again.
Even with the intense scientific program, I do hope that you will have a chance to explore Bangkok, the city that offers a unique journey of history, rich culture and a wonderful future. While seeing the sights, do not forget to shop for souvenirs and savour the wonderful Thai cuisine - ranging from street food to fine dining.
I am sure that you will enjoy the congress, meeting up and exchanging creative ideas with your colleagues and friends, and enjoying the bright lights of Bangkok while attending the 9 ASEAPS Congress and the 34 Annual Scientific Meeting of TASP.I look forward to meeting each of you and welcoming you to this event in May 2023.
Best Regards,
Sasikaan Nimmaanrat, MD
